WELLESLEY HILLS, Mass. (August 18, 2025) 鈥 糖心传媒 computer science student Mahanaz Jatoi has been elected to serve as the College鈥檚 2025-2026 Student Trustee.
鈥淢assBay has been so much more than a college for me 鈥 it has been a place where I鈥檝e discovered my voice, grown as a leader, and built a true sense of belonging,鈥 said Jatoi. 鈥淪ome of my favorite MassBay moments have been representing the College at off-campus events, speaking with new students about MassBay, and connecting with people from around the world. It will be an honor to serve as the MassBay Student Trustee, presenting the student voice on the MassBay Board of Trustees.鈥
Jatoi, an international student from Pakistan now living in Southborough, MA, chose MassBay for its 鈥渨elcoming community, affordability, and strong transfer pathways.鈥 She has been deeply involved in campus life, serving as an orientation leader before being promoted to Student Coordinator of Orientation, as a senator for the Student Government Association, and as the founder and president of both the Wellness Club and the Computer Science Club.
In addition, she works as a peer mentor in the Academic Achievement Center and recently completed an internship with MassBay鈥檚 Career Services Department. She has also represented her home country of Pakistan at the MassBay International Club鈥檚 International Lunch Hour.
Jatoi鈥檚 dedication has earned her recognition on both the Dean鈥檚 List and President鈥檚 List for her academic excellence. Last spring, she was honored with the MassBay Student Engagement Impact Award for her outstanding contributions to the campus community.
She is scheduled to graduate from MassBay in May 2026 with her associate degree in computer science. After graduation, she plans to transfer to a four-year university to continue her studies and pursue a career in cybersecurity, with aspirations of working in software development or cybersecurity to create innovative technologies and safeguard them from cyber threats.
