‘73 Super Beetle photos in gallery …

July 7th, 2008

Teedster & Teed213 are working on a ‘73 Volkswagon Super Beetle … the VW was just painted … photos here.

You can quickly start your own photo gallery … Teed Hosting’s Online Photo Filer gives you a professional, or family photo album site for sharing photos . it includes easy-to-use editing tools to make sure your photos look their very best . there’s also a feature so you, your family/clients can order high quality prints directly from your photo album!

Photography tips:
+ A picture can be more interesting when taken from an unusual angle. Don’t be afraid to lie down and look up at your subject, a particularly dynamic approach when photographing pets or children and also less threatening to your subject. Equally, you could try climbing up to a higher viewpoint and looking down on your subject. Better yet, try both and then delete the one you like less.
+ A very basic rule of composition is known as the rule of thirds, or the tic-tac-toe rule. Imagine your viewfinder or LCD monitor divided into nine equal-size squares, like a tic-tac-toe grid. Compose your picture with your subject center-positioned at one of the four intersecting points. This should help you compose more aesthetic portraits.

To have a web site, you need a quality host

June 20th, 2008

Hosting is based on your site’s space and bandwidth needs …

A web page is a file.

When you/your designer builds a web page, it is saved as a file on a computer. In order to make the web page file “live” -visible on the internet- you need to rent some space on a server that specializes in making your files “live” on the internet by “hosting” your web page for you.

Basically, Teed Hosting provides a way for people to access your web site through the internet.

A sunbeam to warm you,
A moonbeam to charm you,
A sheltering angel, so nothing can harm you.

… interesting fellow …

Currently working on Trenton 2 Philly (friend T2P on myspace) … I did this site before, but it was called GO River Line, it was a problem child … this describes the difficulties perfectly …

As you climb the ladder of success, be sure it’s leaning against the right building.

I was leaning on the wrong *tree* … sigh! … long story, I’m sure I’ll tell it some day.

Hope you’re having a great weekend!

February 18th, 2008

Planned to get photos edited ‘n posted … but signed-on to discover the message board program - phpbb - needs to be updated …

When you get these notices, always try to update right away … I know it stinks … though with message boards, the changes are usually after some hacker issue … so if you wait, you risk being hacked …

Well, the photos were put aside until (hopefully) tomorrow, and the board updates are coming along …

Have a maaavelous evening, chat at ya tomorrow :)

it’s the easiest thing in the world to do.
But to hold it together, when everyone else …
would understand if you fell apart.
That’s true strength.”

Tah-do’s

February 5th, 2008

* Grocery shop for the week
* Go through papers on my desk
Stop mailing me stuff for a few weeks! Please + thank you!
* Take down the Christmas theme on Trenton2Philly’s myspace page
Yikes! I forgot …
* Start Teed Hosting’s new design
I made a mistake when I made Teed Hosting. I allowed myself to follow the standard look for biz web sites -bad Kimmie! I’ve never been proud of its design. I don’t love it, and you must LOVE your product. It functions great, but it’s too blahhh to be a Teed site, ya know.
* Take a nap
Power naps are the best!
* Post photos from the January 12th event
* Run ball with da boy :)
* Post blog program for Charles Clear, a new design client
* Accept myspace friend requests, and post a thank you for the request comments

* Relax in front of the TV with handsome hubby …

What’s on your tah-do list today?

Hope you accomplish lots,
—Kimberly Teed

When I was a Boy Scout, we played a game when new Scouts joined the troop. We lined up chairs in a pattern, creating an obstacle course through which the new Scouts, blindfolded, were supposed to maneuver. The Scoutmaster gave them a few moments to study the pattern before our adventure began. But as soon as the victims were blindfolded, the rest of us quietly removed the chairs. I think life is like this game. Perhaps we spend our lives avoiding obstacles we have created for ourselves and in reality exist only in our minds. We’re afraid to apply for that job, take violin lessons, learn a foreign language, call an old friend, write our Congressman - whatever it is that we would really like to do but don’t because of personal obstacles. Don’t avoid any chairs until you run smack into one. And if you do, at least you’ll have a place to sit down. –Pierce Vincent Eckhart

Maintaining Momentum

February 4th, 2008

It is important to do something every day, even if it’s something tiny … seriously, even if *I don’t wanna!* I pick something dinky and do that –just to keep things going …

Go! Take today’s step towards your goal -right now!

You’ll be happy you did :)

Pizza place analogy …

January 17th, 2008

What does Teed Hosting do?

I’ve been in e-biz sooo long that hearing someone ask what a web site host is actually shocks me —for an e-second :))

Here’s the pizza place analogy I use to explain web sites to *regular* people …

If you were going to open up a 24 hour pizza place you would need a biz name … like, BOB’S PIZZA
You would need a product … PIZZA PIES
You would need pizza makers … MARIO & LUIGI
You need to rent space for your pizza shop … PIZZA SHOP

BOB’S PIZZA = bobspizza.com; your domain name
PIZZA PIES = your web site content
MARIO & LUIGI = the web masters that make your site
PIZZA SHOP = TeedHosting web site hosting

… so a web site host is an e-landlord :)

Hope that makes things a bit clearer,
—Kimberly Teed
